Prodigal Son - Luke 15:11-32 - The younger son of a wealthy man who went to his father and asked for his inheritance. He thought he would be better off without the constraints of the family. The young man squandered his money frivolously. He ended up so desperate he went to work feeding pigs for a farmer and eventually even eating with the pigs. He then decided to return home to his father hoping to return just as a servant. Instead, his father welcomed him with open arms not as a severant, but as his son. 

Ruth- Ruth 1-4 - The book of Ruth holds one of the greatest Love stories in the bible. Ruth was a widower. She married into a Hebrew family soon after all of the men died. Ruth and her mother - in - law moved to Israel where to provide Ruth began working in the grain fields of a wealthy man named Boaz who was a near kinsman of Naomi. However there was a closer relative to Naomi. He even possessed the right to marry Ruth. Boaz bought the responsibility to care for the ladies and even marry Ruth.  Boaz is referred to as a kinsman redeemer.  Ruth was a widower who came with “baggage”  that was Naomi. Ruth and Boaz are the great-grandparents of King David “a man after God’s own heart.

”Saul of Tarsus- Acts 9: 1-22 - Saul was on a mission to capture Christians as he had done before. He was a murderer. He spoke out against the Jews. He was a very violent man. Then on the road to Damascus he encountered our God. He then goes on to become the Apostle Paul. A martyr for Christ and one of the most prolific people in the bible that many of us relate to even today.
